Church is hosting Christmas Bazaar, Silent Auction
The Catholic Church of the Resurrection Ladies Guild is hosting a Christmas Bazaar and Silent to be held on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church is located at 204 Heritage Road in Loris.
King of Glory Lutheran Church at 11th Avenue North in North Myrtle Beach will begin Sunday School at 9:45 am. and worship services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. each Sunday. All are welcome.
Stitching Ministry needs volunteers
Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church at 410 Sixth Ave. S. in North Myrtle Beach holds a Stitching Ministry every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Quilts, skirts, tote bags and dolls are among the items made for local and international missions. Church members and community members are welcome to join the work and fellowship of this important and gratifying ministry. Call Denise at 280-3530 with questions. They will not meet Nov. 26 thru Dec. 31. They will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014.
Knights sponsor monthly dinners
Pasta dinners are held from 4 to 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in North Myrtle Beach. Cost is $8 per person, $4 for children under 12 years and $20 for families of two adults and two children. Tickets can be purchased at the parish office at the church. The event is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and Columbietts. Proceeds go to support various charities.

NMB Chamber building dedication
The North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce Convention & Visitors Bureau is holding their building dedication, ribbon cutting and Building North Myrtle Beach Campaign Celebration from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, with the Wall of Honor unveiling at 6 p.m. The building is located at 1521 Hwy. 17 S. in North Myrtle Beach.
CCU to host holiday concert

Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
Join them as they begin the holiday season with the 6th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 3. The event will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. at the CB Berry Community Center in Little River. Be sure to join them inside after the ceremony for refreshments and a chance to meet Santa Claus. Barefoot Holiday Bazaar
Barfoot Holiday Bazaar will include homemade arts and crafts, pottery, jewelry and more. There will be a White Elephant Sale, Santa’s Café with coffee, soft drinks, homemade soups and sandwiches. The event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Barefoot Residents’ Club located at 3100 Marsh Glen Drive in North Myrtle Beach. Directions from Highway 17 North are: turn onto Barefoot Resort Bridge Road, cross over the bridge, then follow the signs to the residents’ club.
Library to hold book sale
A big blowout book sale will be held at the Little River Library on Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Buy a library bag for $5 and fill it up.
Christmas Candlelight Tour of Homes
The 20th Annual Christmas Candlelight Tour of Homes sponsored by the North Myrtle Beach Woman’s Club is on Thursday, Dec. 5, from 5 to 9 p.m. Five spectacular homes decorated for the holiday season are on the tour. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of tour. Tickets are available at the North Myrtle Beach Chamber, Hope Taylor and Company and Purpleologist. For more information call 843-655-2688. All proceeds for this event will go to local charities in the North Myrtle Beach community.
Arbor Day tree planting
An Arbor Day tree planting will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the new city park. Volunteers are needed to help plant 109 small trees at the park. Volunteers will park at the new park and they will shuttle everyone to the planting locations. The trees are part of a tree grant from Palmetto Pride.
A KNMBB Christmas Drop-in is set for Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the new city park following the Arbor Day tree planting.

NMB Tree Lighting

Guardian ad Litem program needs volunteers
Guardian ad Litems are volunteer adults that serve as court-appointed advocates representing the best interest of children involved in Horry County Family Court proceedings. These proceedings typically concern allegations of abuse and neglect, volunteers and guardians receive full training and staff support from experienced case managers. The next class will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, and will continue weekly for five weeks. The hours of the training are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the classes will be given at the Guardian ad Litem office in Conway. VWHRC offers services
Veterans Welcome Home and Resource Center (VWHRC) is located at 4254 Stella Court in Little River.
