Luther M. Rabon

Luther M. Rabon, 69, of Marion passed away on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019.

Mr. Rabon was born in Conway, a son of the late Donnie A. and Estelle G. Rabon. He was a member of Marion Baptist Church and the Oak Tree Sunday School Class. Mr. Rabon was Past Distinguished Governor of Civitan International for the state of South Carolina, Past South Carolina Jurisdictional President of WoodmenLife and worked with the Horry County School District, Mullins School District 2 and retired from Florence School District 1 as assistant superintendent of finance. He was predeceased by one brother, Gordon Rabon, and his father-in-law, Clyde H. Richardson Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Donna Richardson Rabon of Marion; three brothers, A. D. Rabon (Ernestine) of Jacksonville, Fla., Freeman Rabon of Jacksonville, Fla., and Ernest Rabon of Myrtle Beach; three sisters, Genevieve Fipps (Wilton) of Saint John, Fla., Bonnie Faye Martin (Jack) of Aynor and Synatha Mae Thompkins of Galivants Ferry; his mother-in-law, Dorothy W. Richardson of Loris; his godson, Justin Lee (Wendi) of Myrtle Beach; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31, at Marion Baptist Church with the Rev. Adam Work officiating. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Mausoleum in Conway. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 31, from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the Marion Opera House.
