In the middle school division the winners were: 1st place – Da’Biez Kelly (8th grade); 2nd place – Hannah Bienkowski (8th grade); 3rd place – Sierra Bauguess (6th grade); and People’s Choice – Viv Diaz (7th grade).

The competition was judged by two veteran judges, Tony Boyer and Tory Gibson, and one new judge, Will Winkler.

The competition was not only successful as a fundraiser, but also as an effort to encourage middle school students to participate in the fine arts program, a combined effort of Lindsay Link and Jason Madeline, chorus teachers at their respective schools.

Many high school students were involved with all three nights of Chief Idol, some in unseen positions. The tech crew consisted of Daelin Tripp, Lili Benson, Maleah Condrey, Robert Carsch and Jessica Davis. All three nights were emceed by senior, Jack Baldwin. The first round of Chief Idol was co-hosted by Miss North Myrtle Beach, Maritsa Platis (senior).

The Chief Idol event was enjoyed by all who attended and the Fine Arts Department is thankful to all who participated and all who came out to support the program.
