Bobbie Jean Boatwright Morris, 89, of North Myrtle Beach died on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019. She was born on Dec. 9, 1929, in Marion County, a daughter of the late Willie Blue and Rosalie (Brown) Boatwright.
She grew up in Marion, graduating from Marion High School in 1947. She moved to the Grand Strand in 1948, where she married Fred J. Morris Sr. on Valentine’s Day. On Valentine’s Day 2019, they enjoyed their 71st wedding anniversary.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach, a homemaker and was the former owner and operator of Bobbie’s Beauty Box in the Crescent Beach section. Bobbie took great pride in caring for, supporting and loving all her family.
Survivors include three children, Fred J. (Debbie) Morris Jr. of Little River, Glenn Lee (Nancy) Morris of Longs and Lorraine Hope Hickman of North Myrtle Beach; six grandchildren, Page, Ben (Chelci) and Dillon (Abby) Morris, Jade Hickman Chandler, Brent (Lindsey) Gilbert and Jamie Gilbert (Nick) Watson; and seven great-grandchildren, Amber and April Chandler, Madison and Kaylee Gilbert, Grace and JP Watson and Royce Morris; two brothers, William E. “Billy” Boatwright of Conway and Donald V. (Dollie) Boatwright of Myrtle Beach; and one sister, Nancy B. Herndon of Myrtle Beach. She was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Boatwright Reed and her husband Bob, and a sister-in-law, Leona Boatwright.

A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, 2019, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Morgan officiating. Burial followed in Southern Palms Memorial Gardens in North Myrtle Beach. The family received friends from12 noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
