Lacrosse team gets first win

The North Myrtle Beach High School Lacrosse Teams have finally had their first wins.

The boys junior varisity team beat the Myrtle Beach High School Junior Varsity team at home on Saturday, March 9. This win was the first lacrosse win by any lacrosse team in the history of the high school. The final score of the junior varsity game was 3-2 in favor of the Chiefs.

Wyndham Freeman, an eighth grader, played goalie during the third and fourth quarters and Alex Williams played in goal during the first and second quarters and even scored in the second half. The North Myrtle Beach Varsity Boys Lacrosse Team was also successful on March 11 away at West Brunswick. Following the Varisty Girls lacrosse’s painful 22-0 loss to the West Brunswick Trojans, the boys played an intense game. Coach Dan Rosa is the head coach for the JV and both varsity teams. The final score of the West Brunswick game was 7-6 and was won in sudden death overtime. The goalie was senior Peyton Warren, who received a game ball and was critical to the win.

The next game for the Chiefs is on Thursday, March 14. The girls varsity play at 4:45, the junior varsity plays at 6:15, and the boys varsity plays at 8. The game will be home against the St. James Sharks.
