Brenda J. Glaze, 63, of Little River died on Sunday, March 24, 2019.
Born on May 16, 1955, in Bethel, N.C., she was the daughter of Wallace Lee and Bessie Taylor James Sr.
Brenda played high school basketball in her home town of Robersonville, N.C.
She attended Appalachian State University before moving to Columbia. She married Oscar Glaze on Nov. 29, 1981, and accepted Christ as her Savior in 1985 at a Billy Graham Crusade. Brenda loved ocean fishing, attended the First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach with her husband Oscar and was a faithful student of Bible Study Fellowship for years.
After enjoying many travels, Brenda experienced kidney failure in 1998. After some time on dialysis, her beloved sister, Betty Jo Manning, donated a kidney, allowing Brenda to enjoy 10 years of freedom and life until just recently.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Oscar Lee Glaze; daughter, Belinda Cress (Andy); brothers, Wallace James Jr., Johnny James (Linda) and Jeffrey James (Tracy); sisters Betty Jo Manning (Dale) and Becky Strickland; two grandchildren, BrieAnn Morris (Pete) and David Cress (Leah); and five great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, at the First Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Woodridge Memorial Park in Lexington, S.C.
