Covell Soles, 69, of Tabor City, N.C., passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at McLeod Florence Hospital. He was born on Dec. 16, 1949, in Loris, to the late Forrest Covell Soles and the late Iola Fisher Soles. Mr. Soles was a member of New Heights Church in Trinity, N.C., attended Crossway Baptist Church in Loris and worked in construction most of his life.
Survivors include his two sons, Scotty Covell Soles and his wife Kimber, and Brandon Forrest Soles and his wife Jessica, all of Loris; daughter, Angela Duncan of Tabor City; ten grandchildren, Justin Soles, Jamie Duncan, Richie Duncan, Savannah Soles, Jasmine Soles, Gracelynn Soles, Thomas “L.B.” Neer and his wife Lindsy, Seth Neer, Kennedy Miller and Brayden Faircloth; six great-grandchildren, Bella Duncan, Kali Duncan, Trina Duncan, Kingston Duncan, Lakelyn Neer and Alaileigh Branton; five sisters, Pauline Watts and her husband Grady of Loris, Beatrice Caulder and her husband James of Winston Salem, N.C., Peggy Porter and her husband Roger of Trinity, Jackie Mierjeski of Archdale, N.C., and Ernestine Norris and her husband Frank of Loris; and his faithful K-9 companion, Kane.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Reeves.
Visitation was held from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, at Hardwick Funeral Home. Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Wed., April 24, at Antioch Cemetery in Loris with the Rev. Tommy Shelley and the Rev. Roger Porter officiating.
