Steve Calfee

Steve Calfee, a Myrtle Beach  musician and entertainer with his wife Alyce, since 1972, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach after heart surgery.  A celebration of life cruise will be on Sunday, June 23, on the Island Time Boat at 101 Fantasy Harbour Boulevard.  Boarding is at 1:30 p.m.

Steve was a talented entertainer, singer, harmonica player, guitar player, recording engineer and producer. He performed from 1973-2019 along the Grand Strand at well known places such as The Bowery, The Oasis, Cluie’s Golden Ox and Mary Juels, with his wife Alyce, and on the road with the show band “First Class”.

One of his absolute favorite gigs was playing and sailing for three years on the Barefoot Princess with Sara and Captain Alan Roland and Captain Tuck. He was so looking forward to continuing playing and doing tours on the waterway with Captain Shane and his wife Kerri, along with Sara Roland on Myrtle Beach’s Island Time boat. We’ll remember him as a kind-hearted and loving person with a great sense of humor, a loyal friend, a dog lover and a great husband and partner. He was one of those fortunate people who got to do what he loved in life.

The son of Edwin A. Calfee and Jyme Lynn Staggs,  he was born in Longview, Washington, and was the stepson of Nell Calfee.  He is survived by his wife Alyce, his aunt and uncle Myrna and Tom Stecker, his step-sisters Connie (Scott) Cassell and Darlene (David) Bowers, sister-in-law Karen (John) Christin, niece Kim (Rick) Soldo and nephew John (Melissa) Harris, son and daughter of the late Roland and Pat Harris and many other wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews.
