Gilbert U. Taylor, 84, of North Myrtle Beach passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on Feb. 27, 1935, in St. James, Barbados, he was the son of the late Egerton George and Mitalena Forde Taylor.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sondra Long Taylor; son, Christopher R. Taylor (Allison); two daughters, Marion Ward and Sonia Pichardo (Edward); brother, James Taylor (Barbara); two sisters, Hilda Fletcher (Leonard) and Wilma Skeet; six grandchildren; one niece and two nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, at St. Stephens Episcopal Church at 801 11th Ave. N. in North Myrtle Beach. Burial will follow at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens in Little River.
