Plenty of funny stories abound

By Meg Williams: Brianna Spake Webb began her teaching career at Waterway Elementary three years ago where she teaches kindergarten. Originally from Spartanburg, Brianna graduated from Anderson University earning a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education.

Brianna married Nick Webb this past October. She is the daughter of Kevin and Tracy Spake. Brianna has one sister, Chloe, and two brothers, Austin who is married to Tabby and Brandon, who is married to Stephanie. She is aunt to Gavin and Riley, the children of her brother Brandon.

Mrs. Webb says “Building relationships with her students” is the most rewarding part of her job. She loves engaging in converstaions that lead to letting her learn more about each of her students and “what makes them who they are.”

Brianna’s fourth grade teacher encouraged her and inspired her to become a teacher. However, she has had several leaders in her life that showed her perseverance  and how to follow her dreams. With that being said, it’s understandable that her favorite quote is “Dream it. Wish it. Do it.”

Even with just three years of teaching, plenty of funny stories abound. One of her favorite though refers to her maiden name Spake and the pronunciations. The last two years she heard Ms. Spank, Ms. Spade, Ms. Bake, Ms. Steak, and her favorite Ms. Spigot. After getting married this year she was sure Webb would be much easier to say. In all seriousness though she was called Mrs. Spider this year. Kids are too funny!

Brianna’s hobbies are playing with her puppy, watching Law and Order and going to the beach.

Waterway is happy to have Mrs. Webb as part of their school family.
