The Loris High School (LHS) cheerleaders attend camp each summer at local colleges to learn new routines to perform during the football and basketball games.
This summer Kaitlyn Delvin tried out for a position on the cheerleader squad during the summer camp and was recently notified that she has been selected to be one of the cheerleaders to march in the New Year’s Parade in London, England. She said, “I had to audition for the position and out of many other varsity cheerleaders I was picked as an All American,” she continued, “I am now able to have the opportunity to travel overseas.”
Holly Holland, LHS cheering coach, is over the moon for one of her cheering squad to make the All American Team to travel.
Delvin said, “I am very thankful to have this opportunity to be able to represent Loris High as a varsity cheerleader going to London. This is going to be an incredible experience along side with my mother.” She continued, “If it wasn’t for my family none of this would be possible.”
Delvin’s mother, Christina, is excited for her daughter to be chosen to be a part of the group heading for London and being able to accompany her on this trip of a lifetime. The two leave on Thursday, Dec. 26, and return Jan. 2, 2020.
Two weeks in London for a senior at LHS is a dream come true.
This may open doors for Delvin as she applies to colleges and might lead to a cheering scholarship.
Everyone wishes the Delvins safe travels and an enjoyable learning experience while in London.
