Three Loris council members and the mayor took the oath of office on Monday, Jan. 6, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall.
Continuing to serve the city of Loris are council members Joan Gause, Lewis Hardee and Jan Vescovi. Dennis Drozdak, interim city administrator, read the oath as each repeated it. Hardee holding his left hand on the family Bible held by Martha Dorman, promised to uphold the position to continue to help the city and the people of the city.
Gause and Vescovi held their hand on the Bible and repeated the oath. Each was grateful to the citizens of Loris for voting them into office in the November 2019 general election.
Todd Harrelson took the oath of office of mayor while his wife, Sheila, held the family Bible.
Harrelson will continue with the agenda of making Loris a place where people want to visit.
