Edna Joyce Tharrington Warren, 66, of Loris passed away on Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, at Regency Select Hospital in Florence following an illness. Mrs. Warren was born on Nov. 18, 1951, in Snow Hill, N.C., to the late Howard Tharrington and the late Doris Thomas Tharrington. She was a correctional officer at the Eastern Correctional Institute in Maury, N.C., and was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Warren of the home; son, Danny Herring and wife Candy of Whiteville, N.C.; step-children, Michael L. Warren II and wife Brandy, Lori Armor and husband Mike and Misty Gandee, all of Newport News, Va.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Phyllis Cox Johnson and husband Richard of Wilmington, N.C., Teresa Norris and husband Speedy of Loris and Faye Heath of Snow Hill.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Warren was predeceased by her son, Howard Keith Herring Sr.
Visitation was held on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 1 until 2 p.m. at Hardwick Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Timothy Suggs officiating. Committal services followed at Twin City Memorial Gardens in Loris.
