Ruby Mae Griggs Grainger

Ruby Mae Griggs Grainger, 84, of Loris passed away on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020, at McLeod Loris Hospital. She was born on June 11, 1936,  in McColl, S.C., to the late Hilton Griggs and the late Eliza Levinder Griggs. Mrs. Grainger was a longtime member of Ocean View Baptist Church and attended the deaf class. She was a loving homemaker and a blessing to all who knew her. 

Survivors include her caretakers, David Elliott and Amy Shelton; very close personal friend, Margene Todd; nephews, Clint Grainger and wife Carolyn, Danny Goins, Johnny Goins and Jerry “Garnet” Goins; nieces, Robin Goins, Debbie Brock, Saundra G. Hardie, Wanda G. Strickland, Teresa G. Stephens, Carolyn G. Fipps and Hilda G. Hardie; and many loving great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mrs. Grainger was predeceased by her husband, Franklin Grainger; brother, Paul Levinder; sister, Margaret Jessie Goins; great-nephew, Danny Goins Jr.; and great-niece, Samya Hatcher.

Graveside services were  held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13, at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Layman David Hawley and Layman Al Paese officiating. The family received friends before services from 1:30 p.m. until 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Ocean View Baptist Church’s Deaf Class, 7300 N. Kings Hwy., Myrtle Beach, S.C. 29572.
