Compass by Margaritaville hotel coming to North Myrtle Beach oceanfront

By RUBEN LOWMAN

A brand-new Compass by Margaritaville hotel project is coming to the city of North Myrtle Beach.

The boutique hotel will be the first of two properties from the global lifestyle brand inspired by musician Jimmy Buffett, to debut in the local area in the coming years.

Developed by McGonigal Family & Partners, construction on the hotel, which will be located at 1717 S. Ocean Bouevard in the Crescent Beach section of the city, is slated to begin in the coming months.

The property will feature approximately 150 guestrooms, an indoor and outdoor pool experience, fitness center, meeting space, a 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill, Provisions Grab & Go and a complimentary breakfast buffet. Once completed, Compass Hotel North Myrtle Beach will bring a laid-back, boutique hotel vibe and a sense of paradise to the community with inspired rooms and thoughtful amenities.

The groundbreaking on the Compass Hotel North Myrtle Beach will begin in the coming months, with its opening expected to be early 2025.

As part of the brand’s expansion and growth in the area, Margaritaville also has plans to open a resort destination in Myrtle Beach.

“We have a dedicated and rich history in Myrtle Beach with our Margaritaville Restaurant and two LandShark Bar & Grill locations,” said Jim Wiseman, president of development at Margaritaville. “With the addition of Compass Hotel North Myrtle Beach and Margaritaville Beach Resort Myrtle Beach, we are expanding our presence and bringing our award-winning hospitality experiences and offerings to the community and its visitors.”

Margaritaville, “a state of mind since 1977”, is a global lifestyle brand inspired by Buffett, whose songs evoke a passion for tropical escape and relaxation.

Compass by Margaritaville is one of the newest additions to the global lifestyle brand’s growing collection of concepts, where casual luxury, comfort and convenience all meet in a boutique hotel style. The hotel will offer a “fresh way for guests to relax, rejuvenate and escape the everyday.”
