Macaroni Mania is set to run rampant at the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex once again this year.
The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach will be holding their 5th Annual Macaroni Mania event and fundraiser this Saturday, Feb. 25, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the city’s amphitheater and sports complex. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit the local organization and provide critical funding that enables the animal shelter, its staff and its team of volunteers to continue serving the people and pets in the community.
The event will be a Saturday afternoon filled with fun, awesome entertainment, good food, vendors, children’s activities, a silent auction, as well as an adult beverage garden.
“So come join us out there, try some macaroni and cheese, adopt some animals, listen to some rock music and check out some of our local vendors that are involved,” said NMB City Councilmember Nikki Fontana.
Macaroni Mania, presented by BNB Electric, will feature a macaroni cook-off with several local restaurants competing for a grand prize of $500, including Brisket, Philomena’s Catering, Logan’s Roadhouse, Rip Tydz, Dagwood’s Deli and Sportsbar, Murray Law Group LLC/Oscar’s Food & Spirits, Mellow Mushroom, Pinewood Cooking Squad and World of Beer. Event attendees can also sample each restaurant’s special macaroni dishes for a small donation to HSNMB.
In addition to the cook-off, there will be live entertainment featuring some of the best musicians in the local area. Lindsay Baker, Rick Cannon and the Jordan Pickett Band are all set to perform, with HSNMB Executive Director Tina Hunter saying the shelter’s animals already “have their paws moving and grooving” in anticipation of the tunes.
Some of the humane society’s dogs will also be at the event and available for adoption from anyone who would like to give them a wonderful, loving new family and place to call home.
