Chiefs spring sports schedule starts to get busy this week

Other than baseball and softball reported by The Times, most of the remaining spring sports will be or have been underway this week.

The boys soccer team got their post-Michael Nash Tournament schedule underway Tuesday at Waccamaw. Next Thursday they play at NMB Middle School against Carolina Forest, then travel to Wilson on Friday.

The girls varsity soccer team has two home games next week, Tuesday at home against Carolina Forest and Friday, March 10, at home against Wilson. Those games are played at The Hank.

The varsity boys lacrosse team opened their season last week with a 9-8 loss at Socastee and a 12-9 loss to St. James at The Hank. They played Monday night at home, once again against Socastee. Tonight they travel to St. James and then play Saturday at Academic Magnet.

The varsity girls lacrosse team also opened their season against St. James and Socastee. They played their next game this Monday night at Socastee and play again tonight against St. James, at home.

The boys tennis team opens their season March 7 at Socastee, then have two home matches on the 8th and 9th against Green Sea Floyds and Wilson on the Chiefs courts.

The varsity track and field teams open their competition with the Alan Connie Relays this Saturday at The Hank track field. They also have a home meet scheduled for March 8.

The boys golf team begins play March 7 at Eagle Nest against MB Christian Academy.
