Jack Irvin Eargle

Jack Irvin Eargle, 86, of Conway passed away on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 16, 1932, in Atlanta ,Ga., a son of the late John Irvin and Lena Singletary Eargle.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Raymond Eargle; and two sisters, Frances Kolb and Johnnie Thomas. Mr. Eargle served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a loving husband, father, paw paw, brother and friend. He enjoyed fishing, keeping his yard manicured and working on typewriters.

Mr. Eargle was the owner of Eargles Business Machines for 23 years off Main Street in Conway. He retired from the S.C. Department of Agriculture.

Mr. Eargle is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Martha “Lois” Eargle; one son, Stephen Hugh Eargle and his wife Lynn; three daughters, Gwyn Porter Ward and her husband Joey, Lynn E. Kersey and her husband, the Rev. Jeff Kersey, and Susan E. Soucy and her husband Rick; two sisters, Betty Amerson and Pat McElveen and her husband Gobe; two special brothers-in-law, Bob Grooms and Ronnie Grooms; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends who will miss him.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, at Langston Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Kersey, the Rev. Bruce Davenport and the Rev. Jody Garrison officiating.

The family received friends following the service in the church.
Burial was a private service.
