Arnette A. Hill, 75, of Whiteville, N.C., passed away on Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice House.
Born on Nov. 29, 1943, in New London, Conn., she was the daughter of James D. and Elise Dart Beck. Mrs. Hill was sweet, very quiet, shy, generous and never met a stranger. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Family was very important to her. She helped raise her grandchildren and loved to shop, even if it was just window shopping. Mrs. Hill enjoyed going to yard sales, consignment shops, bingo and auctions. She had lots of friends and loved everyone.
Surviving are three daughters, Suzanna Hill Lee (Larry) of Supply, N.C., Wendy Jean Hill of Clarendon, N.C., and Bobbie Faircloth of Tabor City, N.C.; one son, J.J. Hill (Kenya) of Nakina, N.C.; 13 grandchildren, Samuel Keith Horne, Victoria Ashley Horne, Elizabeth Rose Horne, Michael Preston Lee, Paisley Abygayl Lee, Rebecca Lynn Hill, Amber Arnette Hill, James Earl Hill, Heather Ashley Faircloth, Katlin Olivia Hill, Kenadee Jai Hill, Kamden Oliver Hill and Klein Austin Hill; 11 great-grandchildren; several sisters and brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hill was predeceased by her companion, Jimmy Jernigan, a brother, Jimmy Beck, and a son-in-law, Jamie “Darrell” Faircloth.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 3, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel, in Loris.
The family received friends at 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
