Doerthe Needham was born on April 13, 1929, in Queens, N.Y., to Magda  and Ludwig Boehmer.Her parents immigrated to America from Germany at different times, met in Queen and married, making her percent German born in America. She enjoyed reading, math, swimming and competitive sailing where she met her future husband on Little Neck Bay. She graduated from High School in Queens then Goucher College with a four year early education degree in 1950. Dennis Ray Massengill of North Myrtle Beach, 71, passed away peacefully at Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle Beach, on Saturday, April 4, 2020. Born on March 2, 1949 in Johnston County, N.C., he was the son of Herbert and Nellie Allen Massengill. Dennis loved spending time on the beach and shagging. Carol Dailey Dunaway of Green Sea, age 65, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2020. Mrs. Dunaway was born in Clinton, S.C a daughter of the late George and Vida Dailey.  She was a teacher for many years with Horry County Schools, retiring from Aynor Middle School.  Mrs. Dunaway loved music and treasured her time volunteering as a guardian ad litem for Horry County youth.  She was a faithful member of Mt. Joe Wakley Graham, 93, of Loris went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at McLeod Loris Hospital in Loris. Mr. Graham was born on Nov. 11, 1926, in Loris to the late Eap Graham and the late Maybelle Rogers Graham. He retired as a farmer and was a lifelong member of Lake Swamp Baptist Church.  On Saturday, April 4, 2020, Brenda Bovender Hicks, loving wife, mother and grandmother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 72. Brenda was born on Oct. 15, 1947, in Winston Salem, N.C., to James and Juanita Bovender. She worked at Piedmont Airlines and US Airways for 33 years. On Nov. 14, 1993, she married David Hicks. Dayton Vaughan Altman

Dayton Vaughan Altman, 60, of North Myrtle Beach passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020, in the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center, Brunswick House, in Bolivia, N.C., after an extended illness. Dayton was born on April 4, 1959, in Ft. Benning, Ga., to the late Eugene Ray Altman Sr. and Patricia Lulie Vaughan Altman. He was a master boat repairman and electronics installer by trade. David J. Delph, 76,  of Little River died on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at his home. Born on February 1, 1944, in Joplin, Mo., he was the son of the late Everett and Louise DeStefano Delph.
