Danny L. Stevens, 64, of Longs died on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, at McLeod Seacoast Medical Center in Little River. Born on July 30, 1954, in Horry County, he was the son of the late R.E. and Betty Strickland Stevens. Danny was predeceased by four brothers, LeRoy, Randy, Douglas and Robert Earl. Bobbie Jean Boatwright Morris, 89, of North Myrtle Beach died on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019. She was born on Dec. 9, 1929, in Marion County, a daughter of the late Willie Blue and Rosalie (Brown) Boatwright. She grew up in Marion, graduating from Marion High School in 1947. She moved to the Grand Strand in 1948, where she married Fred J. Morris Sr. on Valentine’s Day. On Valentine’s Day 2019, they enjoyed their 71st wedding anniversary. Joel “Joey” Barry Noble, 62, of High Point, N.C., passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2019 at High Point Regional Hospital. Joey was born on Dec. 16, 1956, in Guilford County to James Basul and LoElla Stroud Noble. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed beach music and loved spending time with friends. Sarah Lisa Jolly Dodson, 55, of North Myrtle Beach passed to her eternal home on Feb. 18, 2019, from complications following surgery and an extended illness. She was the wife of Jeffrey Dodson of North Myrtle Beach and the daughter of Mary Mason and Henry Jolly of Gaffney. Sammy P. Livingston, 76, of Little River passed away on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2019. “Soldier, rest! Thy warfare o’er, Sleep the sleep that knows no breaking; Dream of battled fields no more, Days of danger, Nights of waking.” Sam was born in Wampee on Nov. 2, 1942, to Wilbur and Lutie Livingston. He attended Wampee High School. He was drafted in the Army in 1966 and served and fought in Vietnam. He returned home after his four-year duty with a Purple Heart. Event provides benefits for the humane society

The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach held the 2nd Annual Macaroni Mania Event, benefiting the agency’s building fund, on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex. The event featured a macaroni cook-off between area restaurants in which the winner of the cook-off was awarded $500 in cash. Participating restaurants included Brisket, Antonio’s Restaurant and Bar, Rapone Brick Oven and Italian Kitchen and Harley’s Roadhouse. Helping save Ingram Dunes

The North Myrtle Beach Historical Preservation Society enjoyed a fun day at the 6th Annual Surfrider Oyster Roast and Bloody Mary Contest. The North Myrtle Beach Historical Preservation Society attended and gave away nesting houses, bird feeders and seed bombs for donations. The efforts were to continue to support the saving of Ingram Dunes. The preservation of this historic piece of land is the first major project for the group.
