NMB students advance in Chief Idol Competition

By Lillian Freeman The North Myrtle Beach High School Chief Idol Competition’s first round was a success. With over 40 competitiors, the pool was narrowed down by popular vote and middle school and high school students advanced to the final round to be held on Friday at North Myrtle Beach High School. Regina Hardee Vereen

Regina Hardee Vereen, 56, of Little River passed away at her residence on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019. Born in Wilmington, N.C., on Aug. 2, 1962, Regina was the daughter of A. O. and Joyce Russ Hardee. Surviving other than her parents are two sons, Jessey and Jeremey Vereen; one brother, Benjy Hardee (Lynda); two sisters, Sonya Martin (Morgan) and Sherri Holloway (Chris); one grandchild, Saylor Vereen; two nephews; five nieces; two great-nieces; five great-nephews; and her four legged friend, “Tinker Bell”. Juanita Randloph, 58, of Myrtle Beach went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019. She was born on Oct. 4, 1960, in Little River. Juanita was the daughter of the late Ray and Lula Norris. Juanita is survived by her husband, Russell Edward Randolph; her only child, Amanda Bessent Pearce; her brother, Carl Ray Norris; and her two grandchildren, Houston Anthonie Pearce and Hunter Jacob Pearce. Carol Arline Moll, 79, of New Port Richey, Fla., passed away on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Nov. 14, 1939, in Port Chester, N.Y. Survivors include her daughter, three sons, nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at 2 p.m. at Barefoot Church on Saturday, Feb. 16. Donald Inman of Little River passed away on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, at his home following an extended illness. Born on April 18, 1956, Donald became a master carpenter and a wonderful photographer. Susan Elizabeth Rhodes was born on Dec. 4, 1951, in Lincolnton, N.C., to Robert Wilson and Helen Beam Rhodes.
