Teresa Eileen Damon McAuliffe, 73, of Little River passed away Friday, Aug. 30, 2019, in Embrace Hospice Hospital. Teresa is survived by her sons, Shane Coleman and Darrell Coleman, and three grandchildren. Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers. As per her request, funeral services will be kept private and for her immediate family only. Those wishing to honor her life can make a donation in her name directly to the American Cancer Society.

Barbara Jean Coleman-Franks, 65, of North Myrtle Beach passed away on Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, at her home. Born on July 18, 1954, she was the daughter of Willard and Virginia Ledbetter Franks. She is survived by her daughter, Chrystal Anderson (Keith) of Springtown, Texas, and their children.  Also surviving are her aunt, Norma Louise Ferranti (Gildo); cousins, Don (Joan) Dupree and their two children; Mark (Dannon) Dupree and their two children; Linda (Frank) Davis and their child; and great uncle, Jerry Thompson, all of Michigan. The Embers will perform tonight in free concert

The public is invited to enjoy a free concert featuring The Embers on Thursday, Sept. 19 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Horseshoe on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach.  Concert-goers can expect an incredible show of beach music hits. Patrons and concert-goers are encouraged to bring their beach chairs. Coffee with Friends will host author at library

Friends of the North Myrtle Beach Library will host author and columnist Celia Rivenbark at 10 a.m. on Oct. 3. The Coffee With Friends will be held at the meeting room in the library and is open to the public. Rivenbark will speak about her newest book, Rude Bitches Make Me Tired.  Her first job after college was writing for the Wallace Enterprise, but she moved on to the Wilmington Morning Sun and a humor column for the Sun News.  Several of her books have been nominated for the James Thurber Prize for humor.  One book spent time on the …

Green Sea Floyds Trojans and the Loris Lions faceoff

The Green Sea Floyds Trojans and the Loris Lions faced off on Friday, Sept. 13, at the first Loris Bog-Off Bowl.  It was a tight game with a final score of 28-27 with GSF winning the Bog-Off Bowl trophy. Each team member received a T-shirt from the Loris Chamber of Commerce. Cheer Leading Camp

A cheer camp was held on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Loris High School gymnasium to learn cheering techniques with the Loris High School cheer squad. They showed standing on two other cheerleaders with a spotter behind, how to kick when ending a cheer and much more.  Paiton Todd, coach, made arrangements with LHS for the camp.
