Representatives from 24 schools got to play Santa to some of their students by selecting from organized shelves of toys provided through the Yachts for Tots program sponsored by the Christmas Regatta committee. Guidance counselors and administrators at each school looked at lists of student interests, by age group, and toys were grouped in much the same way. Council took no action. The Trojans got off to a great start building a 24-14 lead going into halftime. During the second half defense ruled the game as the Trojans held on to win the school’s first ever state championship by a score of 26-20 and moving their overall season record to 11-3. Thomas Mitchell Tyler, 77, of Loris passed away on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at Grand Strand Rehab & Nursing Center following an illness. He was born on July 1, 1941, in Loris to the late Clifton W. Tyler and the late Fannie Bell Tyler. Mr. Tyler was a telephone office technician.
