Berkley ‘Dwain’ Spivey

Berkley “Dwain” Spivey, 89, of McDonough, Ga., passed away on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019. He was a loving husband of 63 years to the late Lorene Norris Spivey. Mr. Spivey was born in Tabor City, N.C., on April 20, 1930, to the late Foster and Flossie Ann Spivey. He was a devout Christian and was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Spivey is survived by his children: Norris (Dean) Howell of Locust Grove and Al (Dee) Spivey of Mississippi; grandchildren; Charles (Casey) Byrd, Steve Spivey and Elizabeth Spivey; great-grandchildren; Ethan, Johanna, Noah and Benjamin; sister, Fostine Swain; niece, Ann Harper; and a host of family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, with his grandson, Pastor Charles Byrd, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach, 200 Hwy. 17 S., North Myrtle Beach, S.C. 29582.
