Brown honored with Humanitarian Award

Angela Gause Brown is a native of Horry County and resides in Little River. She is a 1992 graduate of North Myrtle Beach High School. Angela continued her education at Charleston Southern University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice. She is a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

Angela has been employed with the Horry County Sheriff’s Department for the last 21 years and is the Director of Victim’s Services at J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Conway. She has served on the Advisory Boards for Criminal Justice, Paralegal and IT Support Programs at Miller-Motte Technical College.  She is a part of the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office Region Task Force for Human Trafficking in this area.

Angela is very dedicated to working with all different organizations in our communities such as Stop the Violence, Anti-Bullying, Ebony’s Hope, Gun Violence groups, Rape Crisis and all law enforcement to better serve the citizens of Horry County.  As a result of her commitment and accomplishments to this community, she received the Humanitarian Award from the Prince Hall Masons of the State of South Carolina. (Silver Star Lodge No.333).
