Carlos Sanz

Carlos Arturo Sanz, 75, of North Myrtle Beach passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 21, 1944, in Camaguey, Cuba, he was the son of the late Luis and Georgina Sevilla Sanz.

Carlos emigrated from Cuba in 1962. He began his career with General Motors on the assembly line and climbed the management ranks with over 39 dedicated years. He was a member of The Barefoot Residence Committee and enjoyed pickle-ball, golf, cycling and hosting “no-stress” family reunions. His world revolved around his wife, Peggy, his children and grandchildren, who he fondly referred to as “the munchkins”.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Peggy Forti Sanz; two sons, Carlos Alberto Sanz and Benjamin Torres; three daughters, Cristina Sanz, Elena Mascherino and Tiffany Pineiro; two brothers, Luis and Jorge Sanz; one sister, Georgina Ramirez; and nine grandchildren, Julian and Aidan Sanz, Lily, Scout and Evie-Jane Mascherino, Nicolas and Gavin Pineiro and Michael and Hannah Tieri.

A funeral mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 5, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in North Myrtle Beach.

In lieu of flowers, the family has chosen two organizations that Carlos held dear to his heart: https://donate.lovetotherescue.org/fundraiser/2784180 and https://fundraising.stjude.org/goto/Carlos_Sanz.

A guest book is available at www.leefhandcrematory.com.

Lee Funeral Home and Crematory of Little River/North Myrtle Beach served the family.
