The Loris Chamber of Commerce will hold it’s annual Awards Banquet on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020 at 6 p.m. at the Center for Health and Fitness.
Samantha Norris, the chamber executive director, has nomination forms for the awards banquet in her office available for pick up.
Consider the categories carefully to nominate an individual or business who has not been previously recognized by the Loris Chamber of Commerce, a list of previous winners is available.
The categories are Merchant of the Year given to an individual who contributes to the growth of the community. Community Service Award is given to an individual who contributes to the community in the form of leadership. Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a citizen who has made a significant impact to the Loris area and surrounding communities. Public Safety Award for an individual employed in the public safety profession who contributes to the community in a positive and effective way. Outstanding Youth Award is given to an individual who contributes to the community in the form of leadership and volunteer work. The Robert Brooks Entrepreneur Award recognizes a business that has been established more than one year and less than five years showing stability and steady growth. Citizen of the Year is an individual who has displayed outstanding service to and for the community for a period of time.
In January 2019 the chamber awarded the first ever Diamond Award. This award was given to an individual who is dedicated to the community and has gone out of their way to help others and is a huge asset to the Loris Chamber of Commerce.
Norris is asking residents to nominate deserving individuals in the Loris area for the chamber board of directors and awards committee to review. She says, “We would like to honor those who have not received an award in the past, please complete the nomination forms and return them to the chamber office by Monday, Jan. 6, 2020.
When returning the nomination form purchase tickets to the Loris Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Banquet for $25 per person which consists of a social hour, dinner and the award winners recognized.
Norris said, “It could make a positive difference in someone’s life by taking a few moments to complete and submit the Annual Awards Banquet Nomination form.” She continued, “Come show your support and enjoy a wonderful evening with family and friends.”
Deadline for the nomination entries is January 6.
