A cheer camp was held on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Loris High School gymnasium to learn cheering techniques with the Loris High School cheer squad. They showed standing on two other cheerleaders with a spotter behind, how to kick when ending a cheer and much more. Paiton Todd, coach, made arrangements with LHS for the camp.
On Thursday, Sept. 12, cheerleaders for the Loris Recreation Center began practice with Kenya Wright, coach, and assistant coaches Cloey Wright and Desirae Reynolds. The warm-ups began at 6 p.m. with stretches before lining up to learn the cheers. New uniform tops and skorts are provided by the recreation center as well as gold and blue pom poms.
The word skort is the word used to describe the skirt with shorts under.
