The North Myrtle Beach Chiefs varsity football program fell on the road this past Friday night to region foe Hartsville by a final score of 24-8.

North Myrtle Beach opened the game with a first down on their second play of the game, but failed to move the chains any further through their next four drives.

Down 14-0 near the end of the first half, the Chiefs had their first chance to put points on the board with a field goal attempt from Hartsville’s 22 yard line. The kick by junior kicker Zane Smith connected with the left upright and fell outside of the goalposts.

Playing at Kellytown  Stadium in Hartsville, the Chiefs (5-3, 1-3) allowed 327 yards of offense by the No. 9 ranked Red Foxes (6-3, 3-1).

North Myrtle Beach’s only score of the game came from a seven yard pass completion from sophomore quarterback Cameron Freeman to Trace Hall with two minutes remaining in the game.

Hall, who was named the Bubba Collins Insurance Performer of the Game also racked up four solo tackles, with four assists for a total of six tackles to lead the Chiefs on defense.
