City clarifies actions pertaining to license

The city of North Myrtle Beach continues to receive complaints regarding Keye Beach Rentals and its owner, Walter Pigg.

This is to clarify that Walter Pigg is no longer licensed to operate Keye Beach Rentals in the city of North Myrtle Beach.

On February 22, 2019, through his attorney, Walter Pigg voluntarily surrendered his business license to the city. This preceded a March 1 business license revocation hearing scheduled by the North Myrtle Beach City Council. Because Walter Pigg surrendered his business license to the city prior to the March 1 revocation hearing, the revocation hearing was cancelled. The cancellation notice was announced by the City through its customary media, which was picked up by the news media.

This is the complete text of the February 22, 2019, letter the city received from Walter Pigg’s attorney documenting the surrender of his business license:

“On behalf of my client Walter Pigg, please be advised that effective today, Mr. Pigg voluntarily surrenders the business license issued to MGV Group, LLC d/b/a Keye Beach Rentals, issued on 10/26/2018, business license number 27551 doing business at 601 Hillside Drive North in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., and will cease doing business at this location or any other location within North Myrtle Beach.”
