Daisy Elementary School students, teachers and staff attended their fundraiser at Bojangles in Loris on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Bojangles and Daisy team up to raise funds for the school; they give the school ten percent of their total sales from 4 to 8 p.m. at the end of each quarter.
Principal Josh Todd and assistant principal Sandy Carland arrived at the restaurant early to set up the wheel of prizes which included Bojangles biscuits, bo-rounds, bookmarks and more. The community gathered within the four hours to support the school, parents, grandparents, special needs teachers, speech therapists and kindergarten through fifth grade teachers who attended the event.
This is the first time they have joined Bojangles in Loris, first grade teacher, Whitney Pierce-Wright, said, “We are glad to be here in Loris where more students will be able to come out and have a meal together with us.” Rhonda Henry, a special education assistant, was checking names of students who attended this event; the class with the most students has a Bojangles Biscuit party in their classroom. Carrie Davis, Daisy’s speech therapist, stated this is her first year at Daisy and came to get a to-go meal to take home after a long day at the school.
Bojangles was buzzing with conversation and laughter when Big Bo, the Bojangles mascot chicken, appeared for a visit and picture opportunity. Visit Daisy’s Facebook page for all the fun and exciting events happening at the school.
