Doris Ann Lee Hooks Sanders, 68, of Conway passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach. Mrs. Sanders was born on Nov. 26, 1950, in Loris to the late Stanley Lee and the late Letha Boyd Lee. She worked at Anchor Bank for many years and was the co-owner of L & D Distributors for twenty-five years.
Doris was a loving mother, a gracious wife and devoted homemaker. She was an active longtime member of New Home Baptist Church where she will be greatly missed by her extended church family.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Joe Sanders of the home; her devoted son, Darren Hooks and his wife Tina Hooks of Loris; her sister, Lois Lee Gattis of Conway; and many loving nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sanders was predeceased by her brother, Wilton S. Lee and his wife, Doris Lee, and brother-in-law, Edgar Tilmon Gattis.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 6 at New Home Baptist Church with Pastor Myron Pritchard and Pastor David Watts officiating. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church and again immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. Committal services were private.
