The city of North Myrtle Beach Parks & Recreation is excited to kick off their annual Summer Concert Series events. The popular events, Music On Main and Sounds of Summer, begin this week. Each concert is scheduled from 7 until 9 p.m. and is free to the public and features a variety of bands.
Music on Main kicks off on Thursday, May 16 featuring Envision from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Horseshoe in North Myrtle Beach. Concert-goers can expect an incredible variety of Motown and beach hits. Envision’s stage show is as exciting to watch as it is to dance to, covering hits from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, all the way up to the contemporary sound of Today’s Top 40. Although specializing as a “party band”, the band’s repertoire encompasses a wide variety of musical styles, including R&B, Beach, Motown/Oldies, Pop, Dance, Funk and Jazz.
The Music on Main Concert series is sponsored by Coastal Carolina National Bank.
The Sounds of Summer concert series begins Friday, May 17, at the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex Amphitheater featuring Empire Strikes Brass, which is a high energy Brass-Funk-Rock band hailing from the city of Asheville, North Carolina. Formed on the streets of their hometown, this band is rooted in the New Orleans Brass Band tradition of second-line parades and deep moving grooves reminiscent of old school funk. Bring the family for an entertaining evening under the stars.
The Sounds of Summer concert series is sponsored by Food Lion.
Concert-goers are encouraged to bring their beach chairs.
