George Liston Nealy, 83, of Loris passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at his home. Mr. Nealy was born on Sept. 6, 1935, in Loris, to the late Jessie Thurman Nealy and the late Odell Odessa Caines Nealy. He served his country with courage and dignity for four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. After the Navy, Mr. Nealy worked as a carpenter until his retirement.
He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Watson Nealy, of Loris; his two sons, Dale Nealy and his wife, Samantha, of Winter Haven, Fla., and Trey Brown and his wife, Jessica, of Loris; his three daughters, Jana Bohlander and her husband, Barry, of Winter Haven, Fla., Kristy Martin of Loris and Robyn Brown of Loris; his two sisters, Wanda Stevens of Loris and Teresa Nealy and her husband, Garon, of Aynor; sister-in-law, Shirley Nealy, of Socastee; nineteen loving grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Nealy was predeceased by his first wife, Joan Elizabeth Tate Nealy; his two brothers, Robert Thomas Nealy and James Leland Nealy; and sister, Wilda Rae Nealy Watts.
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 2 from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Pastor Michael Mathew officiating and Reflections by Trey Brown. Committal services followed at Holly Hilly Cemetery.
