Gladys Todd Carter Canada, 94, of Loris passed away on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice House in Whiteville, N.C. Mrs. Canada was born on March 25, 1924, in Loris, a daughter of the late Furnie Cornelius Todd and the late Lucy Ann Hardee Todd. Mrs. Canada was a loving homemaker and a longtime member of Wayside Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Lois Wray of Little River, Linda Todd of Myrtle Beach, Lorraine Skipper and husband Lynn of Nichols and Amanda Goodwin and husband Ricky of Whiteville; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Dorenda Long of Wilmington, N.C.; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Gladys was predeceased by her first husband, William Jasper Carter; her second husband, Carl Canada; daughter, Myrna Coleman; two brothers, Johnny Todd and Horry Todd; two grandchildren, Robbie Livingston III and Lisa Wray Howsare; two sisters, Esther T. Mishoe and Eulee Gressell; two sons-in-law, Ronald Wray and Jackie Todd; and two sisters-in-law Ruby Todd and Chellie Todd.
Visitation was held on Monday, Nov. 5, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at Hardwick Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5 at Hardwick Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Floyd officiating. Committal services followed at Cherry Hill Cemetery.
