Jerry Waide Tanner, 68, of North Myrtle Beach died on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on Sept. 19, 1950, in Gassaway, W.Va., he was the son of Russell Waide and Juanita Raider Tanner.
Jerry enjoyed playing the banjo, mandolin and guitar. He was a member of Monks Choir, a Christian band, for 10 years. Jerry and his wife, Janet, who he married 20 years ago, enjoyed boating and fishing, especially with their grandsons. He was also an avid golfer.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Janet Lefler Tanner; sons, Russell Scott Tanner (Stephanie), Andrew Patrick Tanner (Jacque); stepson, Charles Van Shafer Drury (Sharla); brother, Jack Lee Tanner (Marion); sister-in-law, Mary Tanner; and grandsons, R.J, Jeremiah, Drew and Lucas Tanner. He was predeceased by one brother, Jim Tanner.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27, at Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church in North Myrtle Beach.
