Joyce Somerset, 87, of North Myrtle Beach, died on Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, at her home. Born on Feb. 12, 1932, in Lincolnton, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Hillard and Virginia (Kale) Saine. She is survived by her daughter, Billie Martin of North Myrtle Beach, and two grand dogs, Grayson and Piper.
Joyce retired from AT&T after 35 years of service with perfect attendance. She was active throughout her life in church, serving as an Elder, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, leading a Bible study and various other duties and activities.
Joyce enjoyed nothing more than a yard with pretty green grass and her coffee, except the Lord. She also enjoyed going to the gym, reading and studying the Bible.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, at Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church.
