Junior Glenn Miller, 83, of Loris passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2019, at his home. Mr. Miller was born on Dec. 5, 1936, in Boone, N.C., to the late James Frank Miller and the late Clara Pearl Trivette Miller. Mr. Glenn was a longtime member of New Life Baptist Church where he sang in the choir, played the guitar and helped with talent night. He had a passion for gospel music and the mountains. He enjoyed playing the guitar, banjo, and harmonica. Mr. Glenn also spent most of his life working with heavy machinery involved with highway construction.
Survivors include his four sons, James “Junior” Miller- Becker and Matthew of St. Petersburg, Fla., Shawn Miller of Jonesville, N.C., Glenn Junior Miller and Kevin McGowan of Jonesville, N.C., and Amos Miller and Tracy of Loris; six daughters, Teresa Miller and Jackie Groom Hester of Lexington, N.C., Kathy Miller of Elkin, N.C., Barbara Miller and Melinda Miller, all of Jonesville, N.C., Glenda Nunez and Armando of Las Vegas, Nev, and E.K. Miller and Tony Perez of Pleasant Garden, N.C.; many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three step-children, Ricky Dale Graham and Chip of Chadbourn, N.C., Major Sammy Joe Graham and Lacey of Fort Bliss, Texas, and Linda Tyree of Chadbourn, N.C.; and two brothers, Jerry Miller and Worth Miller, both of Hickory, N.C.
Mr. Miller was predeceased by his first wife, Lily Ann Ward Miller and his second wife, Lillie Mae Graham Miller, his brother, Russell Miller, and his sister, Dorothy Miller Roberts.
Visitation was held on Monday, Dec. 30, 2019, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Hardwick Memorial Chapel. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 30, 2019, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Colter Fox officiating. Committal services followed at Hillcrest Cemetery in Conway.
