Larry Ross Hickman

Larry Ross Hickman, 77, of Loris passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at McLeod Regional Hospital in Florence. He was born on May 20, 1943, in Wilmington, N.C., to the late Odom McNair Hickman and the late Mary Elizabeth Heniford.

Mr. Hickman served his country with courage and honor in the Army National Guard. He was the owner and operator of Larry’s Appliance Repair, a member of Loris Masonic Lodge #205 AFM and served his community as a fireman with the Loris Fire Department for almost fifty-five years. He never met a stranger and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Survivors include his sister, Patty Lynn Hickman Marley and her husband “J.T.”; two special nieces, Chandra Covil and her husband Ronald Worth Covil Jr. of Hampstead, N.C., and Cami Michelle Marley of Wilmington, N.C.; and two grand-nephews, Ronald Worth Covil III and Ryan Thomas Covil both of Hampstead, N.C.

Visitation was held on Sunday, June 7, from 2 p.m. until the time of service at the Loris Fire Department. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, at the Loris Fire Department with the Rev. John Wayne Tyler and the Rev. Mack Hutson officiating. Committal services followed at Green Sea Cemetery.
