The 36th Annual Living Legends Association met May 17–18 at Fat Harold’s Beach Club in North Myrtle Beach.
Friday, May 17, was social night for Living Legend members, nominees and guests.
Bayles Mack, Living Legends Board Member, welcomed the great crowd to kick off the night. Lulu Quick and Jack Rainwater, both Living Legend members, prepared the great appetizers for all to enjoy. Tootie Brown, the DJ for the evening, played great music and kept the dance floor rocking.
Saturday, May 18, the night was kicked off by Janet Harrold, Living Legend Board Member, to welcome everyone to the 2019 Induction with thanks for everyone’s support throughout the years with hopes to keep this event going for years to come, thanks to all the volunteers, and Lane Brafford who keeps the records up-to-date. Tommy Hamrick, the DJ for the evening, also kept the floor full before and after the inductions.
The deceased Living Legend nominees that have passed since last year were read and will be placed on the Commemorative Plaque on the Living Legend Wall in the main room. The deceased Living Legend members that passed during 2019 was read before the induction began. Each new inductee was announced and their best memories were read as they came to collect their plaques. The weekend was great and thanks to Harold Worley, Living Legends member, for letting all gather at Fat Harold’s. Thank you to Monty Lee, who always is there to take photos for all to enjoy and use for the SOS Carefree Times summer publication.
The females inducted were Sandy Cummings, North Myrtle Beach; Leah Greene, Columbia; Jane Jacobs, Kannapolis, N.C.; Della Johnson, Myrtle Beach; Diane Mills, Maitland FLa.; and Pat Robinson, Lexington, N.C.
Male inductees were Tom Bare, Kannapolis, N.C.; Larry Edwards, North Myrtle Beach; Dicke Lester, Myrtle Beach; Scott Munford, Florence; Jimmy Buffkin, North Myrtle Beach; and Glenn Doub, North Myrtle Beach, not pictured.
