The 2nd Annual Grand Strand Men’s Conference will once again be held at a local church in the Longs community.
The one-day Christian men’s conference, which will be held at Living Water Baptist Church on Saturday, March 4, is “just the thing to re-light the fire of God’s callings in the hearts of all who attend,” said conference leader Dusty Dodd.
The men’s conference is a citywide event presented by local churches, including Chapel By the Sea Baptist Church, Father’s Cup Ministries Church, North Strand Community Church, Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church and St. Paul AME Church.
The conference will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday and features John Tolston as its keynote speaker.
There will be lunch at 12 noon, with two seminars from 1 to 4 p.m., before the conference wrap-up with Tolston.
Tolston is the former chaplain to the Dallas Cowboys and founder of the The Gathering of Men national ministry. He has also spoken nationally and internationally for more than four decades, as well as serving as chaplain for several professional sports teams, including the Houston Rockets, Houston Astros, Houston Oilers and Orlando Magic.
Dodd said the conference will help “men zero in on the common questions they have all grappled with at some time in their Christian journey.” Dodd said that Tolston will help to bring clarity to the questions men face.
Tolston will help to answer questions like “Why am I here? What did God have in mind when He created me? Is this all there is to life?”, Dodd said.
“You only get one shot at this life, and you don’t want to get it wrong,” said Tolston. “Let us help you get it right.”
Tickets are $20 per person and includes breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks. Sponsoring a table of eight would be $140 per table.
