Luncheon Held For Volunteers of McLeod Health Loris and McLeod Seacoast Hospitals

A volunteer luncheon was held on Friday, Dec. 6, at the Surf Golf and Beach Club in North Myrtle Beach to recognize the many hours of work, time and talents of those who make a difference to the patients, families and staff at McLeod Health Loris and McLeod Health Seacoast hospitals.

McLeod Loris Seacoast has over 90 active volunteers contributing their time throughout the hospitals. In 2019, volunteers at McLeod Loris and McLeod Seacoast provided 19,704 hours of time working in almost every facet of the organization including the gift shops, information desk, transportation, hospitality carts, surgical waiting areas, physical therapy, clerical duties and many more.

McLeod Loris Seacoast hosts an annual teen volunteer program every summer for students ages 13-18. This year, during the months of June-August, 25 students donated over 1,485 hours of service to McLeod.

“Volunteers play a critical role in helping to provide high quality, cost effective healthcare,” said Monica Vehige, McLeod Seacoast Administrator. “Our volunteers provide a valuable service and are an important part of the McLeod Loris Seacoast team.”
