During the Monday, Feb. 17, North Myrtle Beach City Council meeting, Parks & Recreation General Concessions Manager Steven Martin was named Employee of the Month for February for his contributions to the success of the 2019 Great Christmas Light Show at the North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex.
Martin planned, set up and operated mobile point-of-sale tablets used at The Great Christmas Light Show. This enabled staff to presell tickets to cars waiting in line before the gates opened. On some nights, he and staff processed up to 208 vehicles in advance of gates opening, enabling guests to drive directly into the show without stopping at ticket booths. This reduced traffic congestion and wait times for guests.
Martin also assisted in supervising Santa’s Village operations, including food and beverages.
His dedication and hard work played a major role in the success of the 2019 Great Christmas Light Show.
