North Myrtle Beach’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10804 walked away from the recently completed VFW Department (state) Convention in Columbia with a very prestegious award. The official title is the James W. Cothran award. This award also makes Post 10804 an “All State Post”. Jason and Kassidy Skjervem have been on staff with Cru in Minot, North Dakota, since 2005. They deeply enjoy that their summer assignment with this ministry is to spend every other year since 2015 as a part of the Cru staff team in North Myrtle Beach. It was official as Damon Kempski and Kenya Wright placed their signatures executing Election Commissions results. The Loris Library drew a crowd of children on Thursday, June 13, at 12 noon to make buttons for their dads for Father’s Day. Tracy Collins provided patterns or blank circles of paper for the children to use vibrant pencils to make a colorful button. Each child cut out the circle to fit the button, colored it and then Collins helped them to place the circle in the button maker. There were happy faces and smiles during the event. The Loris Chamber of Commerce held their quarterly meeting on Tuesday, June 18, from Noon to 1 p.m. at the McLeod Loris Health and Fitness Center.
