Painted Man performs tonight in free concert

The public is invited to enjoy a free concert featuring Painted Man on Thursday, June 6 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Horseshoe on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach.  Concert-goers can expect an incredible show of R&B, Soul and dance hits. Harrelson urges residents to vote on Tuesday

Todd Harrelson, acting mayor and mayor pro-tem, is urging registered voters to come to the polls on Tuesday, June 11, to vote in the run-off election between Mike Suggs and himself. Harrelson and Suggs were one vote shy of a tie; Harrelson received 183 votes and Suggs received 182 votes in the Tuesday, May 22, election for mayor. Council approves agreement between Loris, Myrtle Beach

The Loris City Council met on Monday, June 3, at the American Legion Hall at 6 p.m. Present at the meeting were Joan Gause, Lewis Hardee, Terrence Hardee, Todd Harrelson, Mike Suggs and Jan Vescovi.  Department heads present were Damon Kempski, city administrator, Brandon Harrelson, code enforcement and public works director, Loris Police Chief Gary Buley, Kenneth Moss, city attorney, and Kenya Wright, city clerk and treasurer. On Tuesday, May 14, while parked in the Food Lion parking lot by the intersection of Sea Mountain and Hwy 9 at approximately 6:50 pm Lou escaped from the vehicle and ran around the grocery store. She was last seen near the small neighborhood behind the Food Lion shopping center in Little River. A cash reward is being offered for the safe return of Lou! Tidelands Health holds grand opening celebration

A presentation and ribbon-cutting to celebrate the opening of Tidelands Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, a freestanding, 46-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital, was held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 17, at 100 Water Grande Blvd. in Little River (located within the Bridgewater Community). Sports Camps Registration Open

Registration is now open for the North Myrtle Beach Parks & Recreation Summer Sports Camps. The department has partnered with North Myrtle Beach High School to offer a variety of specialty sports camps all summer long. These camps are for youth that have skills in a particular sport that they want to be refined or those looking to try a new sport. Safety boating course offered

America’s Boating Course, a boating safety class, will be offered by America’s Boating Club, also known as the North Strand Sail & Power Squadron.  Most vessel insurance companies offer a discount to boaters who have successfully completed this course, The class will take place on Saturday, June 22.  It will begin at 8 a.m. and run until about 5 p.m.  The cost is $40 for members and $65 for non-members.   It includes a textbook.  Additional family members pay $20 and share the book.  A light breakfast and delicious lunch will be served for no additional fee.
