Prior to the May 6 North Myrtle Beach City Council meeting, council members met in executive session for a legal briefing regarding the Sandridge Development Agreement. Council took no action. During the May 6 meeting, Mayor Marilyn Hatley presented a proclamation naming the week of May 5-11 as National Travel & Tourism week in North Myrtle Beach. Mayor Hatley said the city of North Myrtle Beach welcomes an estimated 4 million visitors annually and visitor spending is more than $467 million annually. U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Nicola M. Mari graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.
