Joe Duffe Graham, 64, of Loris passed away on Monday, Dec. 24, 2018, at his home following an illness. Mr. Graham was born on June 27, 1954, in Loris to Vernon Blake Graham and Mary Elease Cox Graham. He worked with Graham Brothers Farm Supplies in Loris for over thirty years and as a SHEP program supervisor with the SCDOT for over 14 years. The Bethesda House for single mothers began only as a vision by local pastor, the Rev. Earl J Spivey Jr. He said he felt God led him to help single mothers and expectant mothers in the area. He followed the calling and retired as a pastor in 2014 after more than 20 years at the pulpit. Bryson Gets A Surprise Visit From Police, Firefighters

On Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, at 1 p.m., North Myrtle Beach police and fire personnel visited the home of six-year-old Bryson Jones, who lives with his family at 4690 Little River Neck Road. Bryson had a heart transplant in June 2018 and he is a few months shy of being cleared by his doctor to go to Disney World to fulfill one of his wishes. Sisters Show Support by Shaving Heads

Patricia Snyder and her sister Betsy Prince are close as they have worked together for 14 years and play together. It all began with an annoying cough, preliminary diagnosis was bronchitis. When she began coughing so hard and saw fresh blood, Prince accompanied her sister to the doctor and insisted that he order an X-ray of Snyder’s chest. Prince also stated that she was rubbing her sister’s back when she felt a large lump and was concerned. The doctor immediately referred Snyder to an oncologist. Threats Made to Five Horry County Schools

A social media post with threats of a ‘killing spree’ naming five Horry County high schools was brought to the attention of the district office who took immediate action following protocol. The district posted to their Facebook page and each individual school Facebook page that they were aware of the threat on Wednesday evening, Dec. 19. The four named schools were Aynor, Carolina Forest, Conway, Green Sea Floyds and Loris.
