Foundation Raises Over $80,000 For Cancer Patients

The first place team winners included Chris Greenwell, Dr. Belal Khokhar, Brandon Higdon and Thys Runia in the golf tournament played at Barefoot Resort and Golf in North Myrtle Beach to benefit cancer patients at McLeod Seacoast in Little River. The McLeod Health Foundation benefiting McLeod Loris Seacoast raised over $80,000 at the McLeod Seacoast Cancer Benefit Golf Classic presented by Sandhills Bank. The Trojans got off to a great start building a 24-14 lead going into halftime. During the second half defense ruled the game as the Trojans held on to win the school’s first ever state championship by a score of 26-20 and moving their overall season record to 11-3. Thomas Mitchell Tyler, 77, of Loris passed away on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at Grand Strand Rehab & Nursing Center following an illness. He was born on July 1, 1941, in Loris to the late Clifton W. Tyler and the late Fannie Bell Tyler. Mr. Tyler was a telephone office technician.
