Loris Fire Team 2019 celebrates 91 years of service
The Loris Fire Department Volunteer Fire Team celebrated 91 years of service with their Annual Christmas – Holiday Party this week. Fire Chief Jerry Hardee was honored with 45 years of service with the department. FF Jamie Stevens was honored with 15 years of service with the LFD. The majority of the current Fire Team along with Life Members, Auxiliary and Family members celebrated fellowship at Adams Seafood. The Tabor City Fire Department provided coverage for the Loris Fire Department while the team was out of town.

The Loris Christmas Celebration took place in downtown Loris on Friday, Dec. 6. The events were held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a variety of holiday entertainment at the Courtyard on Main. The Christmas Parade traveled down Main Street beginning at 7 p.m. to many cheering spectators. It was a fun day for all bringing a lot of holiday cheer.

The Loris High School (LHS) cheerleaders attend camp each summer at local colleges to learn new routines to perform during the football and basketball games. Loris Broadcasting Radio Sports (LBI) was live from Green Sea Floyds Luther Enzor Field recently. The pre-game show begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by the 7:30 p.m. kickoff. LBI Radio owners Glenn Hardee and Mike Suggs provided a play-by-play account of the game, players and action as it takes place. Both Hardee and Suggs graduated from Loris High School in 1981. After graduation Hardee began working at WLSC Radio in Loris working with Suggs. The North Myrtle Beach High School boys and girls varsity basketball teams have started the season 3-0, with two road wins last week and a first home win Monday night at home. Last Tuesday the Lady Chiefs began their campaign with a 53-25 win at Carolina Forest. Coach Brooke Smith was very pleased with the results. “Almost our entire team put points on the board.
